PPL lesson 16: Pre solo check

I didn’t think I would get to fly at all this weekend due to the heavy winds that have been battering the country this past week.
However I woke up this morning and it seems there was a break just long enough to get some flying in. So I had PPL lesson 16: Pre solo check.weather

There’s actually not that much to report. I was back with my original instructor Martin as he needs to sign me off to go solo by checking 3 circuits with me.
The weather was pretty calm until we took off (as usual) so the first one we did a regular approach with flaps which went pretty well (I’m getting pretty good at landings if I do say so myself).
Then we did a two flapless landings, which again I think I did a good job on, considering I have only done one before today.
The approach is very different on a flapless landing and the picture of the runway takes some getting used to, the speeds are also higher and you approach higher also.
On one of our approaches we were told to fly the circuit at circuit height due to debris on the runway, which is the first time my examiner or I had done that. It is quite a weird feeling approaching a runway and not decending.
After this we did a simulated engine failure on take off.
For this you just pick a field, pitch for 65kts and then bring the flaps in as soon as you know that you are going to make it.The last landing was too windy for me to actually do my solo, however at least the pre solo check off is done.
I am currently waiting around for a few hours to see if the wind dies down and I can get my solo in, however if that is not the case then I have a lesson also planned for tomorrow.
